FIBA World Cup 2023: Canada, Australia and Germany Start on a High Note

After a four-year break, the FIBA World Cup returns for the 2023 edition of the tournament.

On the first day of the competition, several high-profile matchups are already scheduled on the calendar. First, a matchup between Lauri Markkanen-led Finland and NBA-players-packed Australia.

Later in the day, the Philippines met with the Dominican Republic. A FIBA World Cup attendance record was achieved during the game, shattering the previous mark set in 1994.

To finish off the day of 8 matches, two basketball powerhouses — Canada and France — battled it out in Group H.

Every game of the World Cup can be streamed live or on-demand via the official Courtside 1891 platform.
