The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Bosnia and Herzegovina Olav Reinertsen, and the focus of the conversation was bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Norway, the political situation in our country, reform processes with an emphasis on Euro-Atlantic integration and security challenges in the geostrategic context.

Konaković expressed his gratitude for Norway’s support for the integration and reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He informed the interlocutor about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasized the importance of fulfilling the reforms and key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission, which would mean the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path.

Ambassador Reinertsen reiterated that the Kingdom of Norway respects territorial integrity, sovereignty, multi-ethnicity as well as the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Given that since the beginning of this year, the Embassy of Norway in Sarajevo has assumed the role of the embassy for NATO’s contact with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ambassador emphasized the importance of that position, especially in the context of security challenges due to the war in Ukraine.

Referring to the support and aid package approved by NATO with the aim of strengthening the defense and security capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Reinertsen emphasized the importance of implementing reforms in our country on the way to the EU and NATO.

The interlocutors agreed that it is important to intensify activities on the implementation of all cooperation projects with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
