Kuleba does not Expect Western Fighters to be Delivered to Ukraine in The Near Future

Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba  said he does not expect Western fighters to be delivered to Ukraine in the near future. The Foreign Minister said this in an interview with Bild .

“I don’t expect the delivery of the fighters to happen in the near future, because this is a very difficult task in terms of logistics and technology,” Kuleba said.

He added that Ukraine wants the training of pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to begin now.

“We recommend starting training of Ukrainian pilots on Western aircraft now, so that when a decision is made to provide aircraft, not to waste time and many months on training,” the Foreign Minister stressed.

  • On February 17, the head of the Foreign Ministry said that no country had yet promised fighters to Ukraine, but  they would soon announce  their studies.
  • On March 6, the Air Force announced that two Ukrainian pilots  went to the United States  to analyze the skills and needs of the training base.
  • On March 10, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin allowed the transfer of old Finnish fighter jets to Ukraine , but the Finnish Ministry of Defense says that the country still needs these aircraft.
