There are currently three people imprisoned in this case, including the Greek MP, Eva Kaili. She was stripped of her position as deputy speaker of parliament in December. The other two are the latter’s companion, the parliamentary aide Francesco Giorgi. and former Member of the European Parliament Pier Antonio Panzeri.

Panziri, the prime suspect in the case, admitted to orchestrating the intervention. Notably by Morocco in European politics, Marc Trabella’s involvement was presented to investigators.

In Brussels, investigators obtained 1.5 million euros in cash during several searches in December. Especially in the homes of Panziri and Kylie.

Another elected member of the European Parliament, the Italian Andrea Cozzolino, is in the crosshairs of the judge in charge of the investigation.
