Belarusian border guards intercept Ukrainian reconnaissance drone

The drone, heading from the Ukrainian side to the rear of the Belarusian territory, was intercepted by a border detachment, the press service of the Border Committee of Belarus reports.

The report says that the incident occurred on February 8 near the state border in the Stolin region. After the discovery of the drone, the Belarusian border guards stopped its flight with the help of an electronic gun.

“The quadcopter was equipped with a built-in video camera. The contents of the memory card confirm that the drone was launched from the territory of Ukraine and was used to conduct reconnaissance and filming technical means of border protection on the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” the Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus stressed.

The ministry also noted that similar cases were recorded in November and December 2022.

Earlier, the head of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that on the night of February 9, the air defense system of the Russian Armed Forces shot down 10 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region, Izvestia writes.
